Size
Child’s size: circumference approx. 50 cm, fits 2-4-year old, finished hat 17 cm in length
Women’s small size: circumference approx. 54 cm, finished hat 19 cm in length
Pattern
The stitch pattern is a multiple of 4 sts. So you can adjust the size accordingly.
Cast 52 - 60 sts on the circular needle
Place a stitch marker at the beginning of the row. Knit K1, P1-ribbing for 11 rows or until the ribbing is approx. 4 cm in length.
Begin knitting pajunkissa pattern.
• Row 1: *In the same st,(K1, yo, K1), P1, K1, P1*, repeat between *-* across row.
• Rows 2.-4: *K3, P1, K1, P1*, repeat between *-* across row.
• Row 5: *K3 tog, P1, K1, P1*, repeat between *-* across row.
• Row 6: *K1, P1*, repeat between *-* across row.
• Row 7: K1, P1, *In the same st,(K1, yo, K1), P1, K1, P1*, repeat between *-*, until 2 sts left, in the same st,(K1, yo, K1), P1.
• Rows 8.-10: K1, P1, *K3, P1, K1, P1*, repeat between *-*, until 4 sts left, K3, P1.
• Row 11: K1, P1, *K3 tog, P1, K1, P1*, repeat between *-*, until 4 sts left, K3 tog, P1.
• Row 12: *K1, P1*, repeat between *-* across row.
Pattern Note: When knitting in the same st, knit only through the front loop.
Repeat rows 1.-12. for child’s hat 2 times and then finally do rows 1.-6. or until hat is 15 cm in length.
Repeat rows 1.-12 for women’s hat 3 times or until hat is 17 cm in length.
Begin decreasing. When there are not enough sts to use the circular needle change to dpn.
Knit K2 tog, P2 tog across row for all sizes. Knit next row K1, P1. Repeat these two rows until there are under 10 sts left.
Note: If the row where you do the decreases ends with decreasing k2tog, then knit the last 2 stitches as k1, p1 instead.
Break yarn and thread through final stitches. Weave in yarn ends. Hat is finished!
